Así que hemos pensado en enseñaros unos phrasal verbs (tan queridos y usados por los ingleses ☺) para hablar de tus planes para este verano. ¿Cuántos de estos 15 phrasal verbs conocías? Abajo tienes las traducciones. El truco para aprenderlos bien es no intentar asimilarlos todos de golpe, sino poco a poco, usándolos cuando más útiles los veas. Elige aquellos que puedas emplear con mayor soltura para hablar de tus cosas. Si los aprendes y usas en contexto es más fácil recordarlos.
¿Y por qué usan los ingleses tantos phrasal verbs cuando tienen otras alternativas de raíces más latinas? Algunos alumnos te contestarían que seguramente lo hacen para fastidiar y complicar más las cosas – ¡ja ja! Pero realmente es porque las palabras con raíz latina proceden del francés y eran utilizadas por las clases altas y en situaciones más formales, mientras que la gente del pueblo usaba más los verbos de origen anglosajón y estos eran los phrasal verbs.
